Fleming College celebrates student success at Skills Ontario 2026
Fleming College proudly celebrates several students who earned top honours at the 2026 Skills Ontario Competition, showcasing their exceptional talent and dedication across multiple skilled trades and technology categories.
This annual competition brings together the province’s most skilled secondary and post-secondary students to compete in a range of hands-on challenges. This year, Fleming students brought home an impressive six medals – one gold, two silver, and three bronze, affirming the College’s commitment to excellence in applied learning.
Gold medal winner:
- Grey Franks – Arborist
Silver medal winners:
- Aedan Ball – Cybersecurity
- Julian Janik – Arborist
Bronze medal winners:
- Annette Best – Hairstylist
- Ashton King – Welding
- Cameron O’Ryan – Carpentry
In addition to competition success, Fleming College was also proudly represented at the Skills Ontario Young Women’s Conferences through a partnership with the Skills Ontario Young Women’s Initiatives team.
Two Fleming Carpentry Ontario Youth Apprenticeship Program (OYAP) students, Ash Lehtinen-Palmer and Sophie Wiltshire, were invited to participate as panel speakers, sharing their experiences in the skilled trades with elementary and secondary students from across Ontario.
Fleming College is proud to have students representing the College and inspiring the next generation of women pursuing careers in the skilled trades.
