We're here for you

Fleming College is committed to creating an equitable and inclusive community that protects the human rights of all persons and celebrates diversity. As such, we recognize your right to self-identify your gender and choose a housing arrangement that is best suited for you. We offer two styles of housing based on gender. All our housing options contain private washrooms and bedrooms.

Same-Gender Housing:

Students that select this preference will be placed with 1-5 roommates of the same gender identity. Students in these suites will share a common space and a private washroom. Students will also have their own private bedroom.

Gender Inclusive Housing:

Students that select this preference will be placed with 1-5 roommates of any gender identity. These students will share a common space and a private washroom. Students will also have their own private bedroom. A mixed-gender suite may include students of any gender identity, including: male, female, trans, two-spirit, non-binary, non-disclosed gender, or any personally disclosed gender identity.

Please note that housing preferences are not guaranteed and are based on availability. If your request for mixed-gender housing is a required accommodation based on one of the protected grounds of the Ontario Human Rights Code or if you have any questions about the housing preferences, please contact the Residence Office.

Accessibility and Accommodation Requests

We understand that as a college student with a disability, you have individual strengths and abilities, and you also have unique concerns. We work with our campus partners in Accessibility Education Services to support your housing needs. Our residences have barrier-free accommodations available.

Students are asked when they complete their residence application to let us know whether they have a residence accommodation request. By answering yes to requiring residence accommodation and completing the required sections, that includes an explanation of the student's situation, a member of the Housing Services staff will contact the student to explain our process and understand how we can help.
