Waldorf Dollmaking: From Pocket Doll to Full Doll

Course Code: ARTS2948

Waldorf dolls are natural-fibre cloth dolls with simple features designed to spark imagination. In this five-day course, you will begin by making a small pocket doll to learn the basics of shaping, stuffing, and working with the materials, then move on to creating a full-limbed Waldorf-inspired doll using natural sheep wool and cotton fabric. You will sculpt a needle-felted head, sew the body, explore hair-making options, and embroider facial details, with alternative methods provided for those who do not knit or crochet. Learn specialized stuffing techniques for smooth shaping and durability, then finish your doll with a simple outfit and personal touches. By the end of the week, you will complete both a pocket doll and a larger personalized doll. Materials kits will be available from the instructor. Please bring a working sewing machine.
