Ink Making for Drawing & Painting Workshop

Course Code: ARTS2712

Learn how to make a variety of inks for drawing and painting including: indigo blue, cochineal red and black walnut as well as ink using local invasive plant species. You will use traditional recipes, materials and techniques, learn about binders, preservatives and storage of inks. There will be a discussion about sourcing materials, sustainable harvesting, pitfalls, successes and the fun of making ink! Everyone will make ink for themselves and share with other participants. Beginners welcome.
A $20 material fee payable to the instructor will be needed on your first day of class
