Ink Making for Drawing & Painting Workshop

This course is welcome to all levels. Anyone can take these courses if interested. Beginner-level instruction will be provided for basic skills while more advanced users can work on more complex projects with instructor assistance.
Learn how to make a variety of inks for drawing and painting using plants like black walnuts, acorn caps, wild fruit and buckthorn berries. You will use traditional recipes, materials and techniques, learn about binders, preservatives and storage of inks. There will be a discussion about sourcing materials, sustainable harvesting, pitfalls, successes and the fun of making ink! Everyone will make ink for themselves and share with other participants.
