Painting - Monochromatic Portraits Made Easy with Acrylic Photo Transfers
Course Code: ARTS2957
Discover how light can transform the mood and emotional impact of a portrait. Working from in-class photography taken on your cell phone, create striking black-and-white images using three natural light techniques, each offering a distinct atmosphere. These photographs will be transferred to acrylic using an accessible photo-transfer method, eliminating the need for advanced drawing skills and allowing you to focus on expressive painting. Using a limited monochromatic palette, explore glazing, layering, and brushwork to build depth, drama, and nuance. With guided instruction and creative freedom, complete three finished portraits that reveal the powerful role of light in visual storytelling. This course builds technical skill while inspiring fresh approaches to portraiture.
