Painting - Acrylics: From Realism to Abstraction

Course Code: ARTS2947

This course encourages students to loosen up and move from realistic subject matter into abstraction through guided experimentation. In a fun, supportive environment, participants explore abstract approaches to capturing the essence and emotion of a scene or subject. You?ll deepen your understanding of colour, shape, and composition while experimenting with layering, mark-making, and dynamic brushwork to express both the physical and emotional qualities of the natural world. Suitable for enthusiastic beginners and experienced artists, this fast-paced workshop also examines techniques used by contemporary abstract artists and invites you to apply them in your own work.
