Precision, Power, and Pride: Join us in Cheering on Fleming Students at Skills Ontario 2026

Published

Fleming students are set, their tools are sharpened, and the pressure is on. This May 4th and 5th, eleven elite students from Fleming College are stepping into the Toronto Congress Centre to face Ontario’s best in trades and technology at the 2026 Skills Ontario Competition. These aren’t just student competitors; they’re the next generation of industry leaders, and they’re ready to show the province exactly what Fleming craftsmanship looks like.

Witness Excellence in Action

Whether you’re there to watch sparks fly on Day 1 or witness students climb to new heights on Day 2, you’ll see #TeamFleming in the heat of intense competition. Our students are testing their skills in welding, metal fabrication, carpentry, heating systems, cybersecurity, hairstyling, and arboriculture. Winners from select competitions earn a prestigious spot at the Skills Canada National Competition, held from May 27 – 30.

Inspiring the Next Generation

This year, female learners from our School of Trades and Technology are taking the lead. During the two-day Young Women’s Conference, our Ontario Youth Apprenticeship Program (OYAP) students from the Trillium Lakelands and Kawartha Pine Ridge District School Boards, and a Plumbing Apprentice and graduate from our Mechanical Techniques – Plumbing program will share their journeys with elementary and secondary school guests. Together, they’re helping young women see themselves in the future of skilled trades.

Registration to attend this conference is required. You can access the registration form here.

Look for us at the Showcase

Once you’ve seen the pros at work, head over to the Career Exploration Showcase and visit us at Booth 182, 184, 186, 188, and 190 (around the corner from the information booth). Here’s what you’ll find:

  • Giveaways and Fleming swag
  • Live hands-on demonstrations (learn the difference between a drill, hammer drill, and impact driver and learn how to tie knots)
  • Hands-on experience operating heavy machinery using a state-of-the-art simulator
  • Information about what life looks like as a Fleming student

The Recruitment Team will help you confirm your Fleming offer. Anyone who accepts their offer for the 2026-27 academic year, or shows us an accepted offer, will receive a Fleming welcome gift (while supplies last), and receive an extra entry into the draw to win a Milwaukee Tool PACKOUT Modular Tool Box Storage System. #SayYEStoFleming
