The International Education Office has organized several informative activities and events for you. All sessions take place online. Some of these sessions require your attendance. Others can be viewed at your leisure and are available now.

SUTHERLAND CAMPUS IN-PERSON:
Choose one day: January 3 or January 4: Meet & Greet for students in Peterborough, Canada – Day 4
If you are in Canada, join the International Student Services team, your Student Association representatives, and meet new friends. This day will be packed with fun activities to help you connect and discover your campus. Participate, have lunch with us, and you will have a chance to win cool prizes.
Due to space limitations, only register if you are certain you will be able to participate.
FROST CAMPUS IN-PERSON:
January 5: Meet & Greet for students in Lindsay, Canada – Day 4
If you are in Canada, join the International Student Services team, your Student Association representatives, and meet new friends. IMMIGRATION 101
8:00 – 9:00 a.m.
What is a “Study Permit” or “Co-op Work Permit”? Meet the Fleming Regulated International Student Immigration Advisor & learn about your immigration rights & responsibilities in Canada.
WHAT’S ACADEMIC INTEGRITY?
9:15 – 10:15 a.m.
Canadian academic integrity rules may be different from those in your previous school experience. In this important interactive session, you will learn how to apply Fleming’s Academic Integrity Policy to your school work and learn how the Academic Integrity policy may impact your success at Fleming and your temporary residency status.
APA CITATION FOR SUCCESSFUL ASSIGNMENTS
10:30 – 11:30 a.m.
APA citation is a must-know when writing essays and assignments. If you need to identify other people’s ideas and research, you need to know the APA style. Learn how APA will help you reference your sources and keep your work uniform and consistent.
FIND A PART-TIME JOB
12:30 – 1:30 p.m.
Learn about the services Career Services offers, including helping students do job searches, job applications, connect and search for employment and volunteer opportunities, as well as help with part-time employment.
APPLY FOR A SIN NUMBER
1:45 – 2:45 p.m.
Apply once and faster for a SIN number by joining this session with a Service Canada representative.
THIS SESSION HAS ENDED (NO RECORDING IS AVAILABLE)
Students attending in-person orientation on January 3 or 4, 2023, will be able to pre-register for the SIN NUMBER CLINICS , which will be held on January 5, 6 & 9 , 2023. Drop-ins are also possible and will depend on availability of time slots. We encourage students to pre-book their appointments.
