Painting - Encaustic Techniques

Course Code: ARTS2741

Encaustic painting is a form of painting that involves a heated wax medium to which colored pigments are added. Work with brushes and encaustic paint as you learn basic and more advanced techniques including: substrate preparation, texturing and layering, scraping and inlay and using oil pigment sticks. Incorporate collage materials and learn how to use photo transfers to give your artwork an added dimension. In addition, there will be a discussion on how to safely set up an encaustic studio environment.
A $120.00 material fee payable to the instructor will be needed on your first day of class
