This course will introduce the student to the concepts, theory and practice of wool painting. Wool painting uses wool fibre batt and roving, specialty barbed needles, and background fabric perched onto a foam pad. The process of poking the wool fibre into the background locks the fibres creating a stunning results. It is a creative process that includes colour theory, blending, fibre theory, image transfer and various realism techniques to achieve desired results for landscape, waterscape, floral or fauna. Essential practice and exercises will build student skills and confidence, eventually leading to students to create their own custom works of art within the week.
