New workshops in gardening and field-to-table farming include Growing, Raising and Preserving Your Own Food; Natural Gardening Workshop; Container Gardening Workshop; and Fun With Moss! Topiary and Terrarium Workshop. These will be offered in addition to the existing workshops on Beekeeping, Wild Edibles Foraging, and Garden Design. Fleming’s Continuing Education certificates are a popular way to upgrade skills or start a new career. New online certificates include Volunteer Management; Fundraising Management; Not-for-Profit Leadership; Event and Conference Planning; Records and Information Management; and Children’s Mental Health. All of these programs can be completed on your own time at your own pace. You can also hone your business skills with professional development workshops such as Effective Coaching Skills, Powerful Presentation Skills, Communication Tools for Leaders, and Creative Problem-Solving.

Outdoor skills workshops continue to be popular with Wilderness Survival, GPS and Wilderness Navigation, and Ontario Hunter Education among the courses offered this winter and spring.

And for individuals interested in updating their professional skills related to water and wastewater management careers, Fleming offers an onsite Wastewater Professional Technician Training program (Frost Campus) and an online Water Operator Training program, which is recognized by the Ministry of the Environment.

Learn a new language with in-class courses in French, Spanish, Italian and German or take an arts course; the Haliburton School of The Arts will once-again offer its renowned one-day workshops and week-long courses in Peterborough in early May.

Fleming continues to offer part-time courses and certificates in a variety of other subject areas: Health and Wellness; Computers; Hospitality and Conference Services; Human and Community Services; Security, Law and Emergency Services; Trades, Transportation and Infrastructure; and Photography, Film and Digital Arts.
