Honouring Our History: Black History Month with Events at Fleming College
This month, Fleming College joins the nation in recognizing the profound achievements, resilience, and lived experiences of Black people in Canada. From the halls of Sutherland to the studios of Haliburton and living labs at Frost, our campus communities are coming together to learn, reflect, and uplift the voices that have shaped our country for hundreds of years.
To honour this history, we are hosting a series of free events and invite students, alumni, staff, faculty, partners, and the public to join us:
“With Love” Writing Workshop
Facilitated by Wellness Counsellors Rachel O’Connor and Emily Springgay.
Join Fleming VIBRATIONS, a vibrant community group for Black student excellence and connection, for a creative writing workshop. This is a space to honour Black leaders, artists, and changemakers through letters, poems, or any form of self-expression. No experience is necessary, and all materials are provided. Everyone is welcome.
