Fleming’s CSNM-accredited Food and Nutrition Management program offering January intake
Peterborough ON – (December 14, 2021) – Fleming’s Food and Nutrition Management program has been accredited by the Canadian Society of Nutrition Management (CSNM) the highest level of certification in the field.
Fleming’s program received the approval of CSNM by meeting its professional competencies, and it has been awarded a five-year accreditation by the governing body for nutrition managers in Canada. Graduates of Fleming’s program are immediately able to apply for CSNM membership following graduation. Membership is a requirement to many food service management positions in healthcare and is mandatory for managing the food service in long-term care facilities in Ontario.
The one-year post-graduate certificate is offered online, allowing students to have the flexibility to upgrade their skills and knowledge while continuing to work. The program is ideal for food and nutrition employees currently in the industry, those with experience in the foodservice sector wanting to advance their careers, and those looking to fast-track to a new field by training for in-demand jobs in commercial and industrial kitchens.
The course material provides supervisory and management skills, as well as training not easily acquired on the job: nutrition-based theory, physiology, effective communication for leaders, and fundamentals of people and financial management. There’s also an opportunity to put the learnings into practice through a field placement in each of the two semesters.
Due to the popularity of the Food and Nutrition Management program, Fleming is offering an intake for January 2022, and applications are now open. For more information, please visit the website.
