Jennifer Rishor, Program Coordinator, Hospitality – Hotel & Restaurant Operations, adventured out west to connect with the Fleming community who are getting their start in the Hospitality industry.

As part of Jennifer’s trip out west, she stayed, toured and explored all things Fairmont Hotels and Resorts, including Fairmont Chateau Whistler, Fairmont Jasper Park Lodge, Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise, and Fairmont Banff Springs, connecting with industry leaders.

“A career in Hospitality offers endless opportunities for career growth and development into leadership and management roles, networking, travel and adventure,” Jennifer says.

Fleming’s Hospitality – Hotel and Restaurant Operations program provides students with hands-on training and experiential learning needed to be successful.

Check out what inspired our graduates and students to take the leap and head out west to jump start their careers.

Hi, my name is Katy. I am a graduate of the hospitality program at Fleming. Right now we are currently staring at what quite literally is my backyard. I am a front desk worker at Becker’s Chalet in Jasper, Alberta. And just take any opportunity that comes your way. Jennifer was amazing, even though my second year was through COVID. She still provided every single opportunity she could and I couldn’t change the way it turned out for me and hope you guys take it as well.

“Take any opportunity that comes your way.” Hear what Katy Howden, a Fleming Hospitality graduate working at Becker’s Chalet in Jasper, Alberta, has to say about her program and her time out west.

Hey guys, my name is Karthik and I’m a student of Fleming. I’m studying hotel and restaurant operations there and Jennifer introduced us to this amazing opportunity to work at the Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise. So here I am.

I was so nervous like in the starting, how is it gonna be? How’s everyone will be with their behavior? But now, like as she said in the class, this is a life changing. This is the best summer of my life. Like I can’t explain it enough, but you just have to be here and you’ll know it.

“It’s life-changing,” says Kartik Verma, a current Fleming Hospitality student completing his field placement at the Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise.
