Peterborough, ON (Aug. 28, 2023) – Fleming College’s brand-new Hairstyling Program launches this January 2024 and students will be introduced to a career in the fashion beauty industry.

Fleming’s Hairstyling program is designed by multi-award winning and internationally recognized industry professionals and entrepreneurs, including Peterborough’s Harmony Hair Salon owner Chris Asta. This new program will embrace both hairstyling theory and extensive hands-on training.

The newly designed onsite Academy Salon will use environmentally sustainable Aveda products and Italian designed equipment of the highest quality worldwide.

Students will work with products and practices which support the health, social, economic, and ecological well-being of their clients and their communities.

Hairstyling at Fleming is offered in a compressed format, three-semesters and has a wide variety of courses to teach students all aspects of the hairstyling business, from the basics of hair care to running a salon.

Instructors will train students in the latest in hair cutting, styling and colouring techniques for everyone. Students will also study the retail and business side of the hair care industry.

Students will be mentored by leading industry experts during their time at Fleming. By the end of the program, students will have developed a full portfolio of their work to complement their resumes. A hair fashion show takes place at the end of the third semester.
