Cultivating Friendly Campus Neighbourhoods

The Great Neighbourhood Walk returns to Fleming College campus communities this month. This student-led initiative helps connect students with residents and neighbours surrounding the Sutherland and Frost campuses.

With support from the Fleming College Student Administrative Council, the Frost Student Association, the Peterborough Police Service, the City of Kawartha Lakes Police Service and local municipalities, this event empowers students with the knowledge and resources they need to have a successful off-campus housing experience.

Two Great Neighbourhood Walks will take place this year:

• Tuesday, September 15: Peterborough | Starts at the Sutherland Campus at 4:30 p.m.
• Date TBD: Lindsay | Starts at the Frost Campus at 4:30 p.m.

Teams will walk through residential areas around each campus, handing out Fleming swag and providing information to new student residents about garbage and recycling pickup schedules, public transit routes, city maps, and tips on how students can foster a warm, inclusive environment in their neighbourhood.
