Stephanie Lazanis

Stephanie Lazanis,

Stephanie Lazanis started with Fleming in Fall 2018, teaching Forestry and Urban Forestry GIS courses. Her interest in the forestry industry grew like a tree planter in BC, Alberta, and Australia while acquiring her B.A. in Geography. She went on to Mountain Pine Beetle survey, control, and quality inspections; finding access into remote locations in the Alberta foothills via helicopters, snowmobiles and snowshoes, to assess infestations.

As a graduate of Fleming College’s post-graduate GIS program, Stephanie designed systems, both in the office and in the field, for Hydro clearing projects in remote areas in Labrador and Northern Manitoba.

Stephanie’s goal is to empower students to accurately navigate and to efficiently quantify the spatial world around them.
