Faculty: Patricia Tuff
I am a new faculty with the CYC Program at Fleming College and very excited to teach and learn with you all.
I am a Nova Scotia Community College graduate from the Child and Youth Care program and I have a BA in Child and Youth Studies from Mount Saint Vincent University in Nova Scotia. I recently completed a Masters of Social Work with York University in Toronto.
My experience as a Child and Youth Care Practitioner have been diverse, working in residential treatment, mental health, child protection, school-based, and community-based settings. I am a child, youth, and family advocate and aim to build supportive, therapeutic relationships.
As a learner and teacher, I am committed to fostering learning environments that accommodate diversities in learning styles and backgrounds. My teaching philosophy hinges on advocacy, creating safe learning environments, and collaborative creation of an interactive and engaging environment. My goals are to promote a cooperative learning community and to build an environment that continually responds to needs of the profession and the community.
I was born and raised in Sutton ON, and have lived coast to coast in British Columbia, Nova Scotia and Newfoundland. I currently call Toronto home and am looking forward to getting acquainted with Peterborough and the Fleming community.
I am looking forward to meeting everyone!
