Mary Talbot
Born in Bermuda, Mary Talbot finds photography a fulfilling medium for expressing and sharing her feelings about this world. Stirred by patterns, shapes, colours, and textures wherever she is, she often portrays them in abstract form. While primarily self-taught, she has studied with Freeman Patterson, Andre Gallant, and Richard Martin. In March of 2005 she was part of a two-week invitational tour to South Africa under Mr. Patterson's leadership. Mary conducts photography workshops, has acted as a judge for photography competitions, and has made numerous presentations of her work from Kingston to St. Catharines. Since 1996 she has had work in juried exhibitions at the Art Gallery of Northumberland and the Visual Arts Centre, receiving several awards, and has had images accepted for "Showtime" in Canada's photography magazine Photo Life.
