Jonah Strub

Jonah Strub is a Toronto-based sculptural ceramic artist whose work draws on camp, kitsch, musical theatre, Yiddish humor and drag to explore queer and Jewish identity. His ceramics feature themes like glamorous Jewish grandmothers, flamboyant creatures, and self-portraiture, often incorporating his own face into bold, patterned forms. Through his drag persona, Loxanne Creamcheese, Jonah embraces flamboyance and humor to challenge ideas of masculinity, femininity and cultural expression.
