Artist Heather Cooper RCA will open doors to creativity, inspiration, passion and where ideas come from. She is a Canadian fine artist that has a celebrated career spanning 4 decades. Her paintings are lush and detailed, inspired by nature and the world around her. Heather works primarily in oil on canvas. Commissions include portraits of Pope John Paul II (Italy), Moses Znaimer (Toronto), Sigfried & Roy (Las Vegas), Alex Tribek (Los Angeles) and intricate paintings for the Stratford Festival Theatre, Canadian Opera Company, Houston Opera Company, Baltimore Symphony and the Smithsonian Institute. In 2011 the Gerhard Miller Gallery, Wisconsin, hosted a one woman show of her paintings. She is the recipient of international awards including, the (former) Soviet Union Peace Award, BRNO Des Arts graphiques Biennale Medal, New York Society of Illustrators gold medal, New York Art Directors Club gold and silver medals. A participant in the world wide commemorative peace exhibit by the Shoshin Society in Japan. Her work has been featured in international publications. Heather has a twin career as a painter and a designer. One of her best known designs is the Roots beaver logo. She has drawn, painted and designed 13 Canada postage stamps and is the author of Carnaval Perpetual, a book featuring both aspects of her creativity. www.heathercooper.com
