Study the history and current definition of, 'learning disability' and explore the many types and facets of learning disabilities and their impact on social, emotional, and academic life. You will have the opportunity to expand your current understandings of assessments and how psycho-educational reports are used to create learning plans for academic settings. Reflect on the narrative accounts of students and adults living with learning disabilities, and use these stories of experience to reflect upon and challenge your personal views. Legal foundations and professional standards as they pertain to learning disabilities will also be explored.
