Discover the basics of hydraulics as they apply to the operation of pumps. Review the operation and maintenance of centrifugal and positive displacement pumps typically utilized in various municipal applications. We take a detailed look at pump performance curves and problems associated with water hammers and cavitation. Correct start-up and shut-down procedures will be discussed.
