Collage - New Directions

Course Code: ARTS2631

Living in an image-saturated world you see more images in one day than a medieval person saw in their lifetime. As artists, we process our outer (and inner) worlds and explore and invent new possibilities with what we find. Collage is the perfect contemporary medium: you can mine this rich world of images, colours, textures, patterns, ideas, aesthetics - reconfiguring, re-combining, and remixing your way into your own creative expressions! Each day will begin with a short class exercise and include some inspiring masterwork examples by leading collage artists. There will be a daily focus that you are free to engage with a little or a lot. Plenty of group discussion and one-on-one feedback will support you as you explore your own collage ideas and explorations. It's the perfect blend of inspiration, structure, support and freedom!
A $15 material fee payable to the instructor will be needed on your first day of class
