Blacksmithing - Hammer Making

Learn to forge your own hammer. In this course you will begin by making a 1 lb riveting hammer to learn the basics of hammer forging. Your second hammer will be a full-sized forging hammer (2-3 lbs). You will have many different patterns to choose from, such as cross peen, rounding hammer, Viking hammer, etc. The course will also cover heat treating, and how to properly fit a handle to maximize comfort and hammering accuracy. Since hammering will often be done in teams, proper sledgehammer form will also be covered. The course will give you a detailed understanding of the process from beginning to end, as well as two of your very own custom hammers!
A $40 material fee payable to the instructor will be needed on your first day of class
