For Faculty

If you are a Fleming faculty member interested in conducting research, the Office of Applied Research and Innovation is the single point of contact to help you get started. We will support you with identifying funding sources, submitting funding proposals, learning about research ethics, finding an industry partner, as well as the many other facets of research, including publishing your results.

We will help you with the following:

Identify research funding sources

There are many national and provincial funding sources available to you to support your research. The Office of Applied Research and Innovation keeps up to date on a wide variety of funding opportunities. Contact us so that we can help support your proposal and help you find funding. If you are in the process of securing funding, let us know so that we can help administer your grant funds.

Develop research proposals

Since its inception, OARI has secured over $25M in research funding. We are experts when it comes to grant writing and knowing what funders look for in a research proposal. We can help you simplify the process, develop research budgets, and review and edit proposals to ensure you submit the best proposal possible.

Our staff regularly attends workshops and conferences to learn about upcoming funding opportunities and are always aware of what funding is available for specific types of research.

Research Ethics Review

We can help you submit an application that meets the requirements of the Tri-Council Policy Statement on Ethical Conduct for Research Involving Humans. Please see Research Ethics for further details.

Market and publish your research

Fleming's Office of Applied Research and Innovation will happily publish your research activity/project in our Annual Research at Fleming magazine, complete with your bio, photos, details of student involvement, and research results. We will also provide guidance and assistance in pursuing other publication opportunities.
