What Is the Equal Consideration Date? A Guide for Fleming College Applicants
If you’re thinking about applying to Fleming College, it’s important to be aware of key dates in the Ontario College application process. One of the most important is the Equal Consideration Date, which takes place on February 1 each year.
What Does the Equal Consideration Date Mean?
The Equal Consideration Date is the deadline for Ontario college applicants to receive equal consideration for admission.
This means that all applications submitted on or before February 1 are reviewed equally when we begin making offers for programs starting between August 2026 and July 2027.
After February 1, Fleming College will continue to accept applications for programs that still have space available. However, applications received after this date are reviewed on a first-come, first-served basis, and some programs may already be full.
Why Applying Before February 1 Is Important
Popular programs can fill quickly
Some Fleming programs are highly competitive and receive more applications than there are available seats. Programs in areas such as health care and skilled trades are often in high demand.
To be considered for these programs, your application must be submitted by February 1. After this date, programs may close once they reach capacity, and applicants may be placed on a waitlist if spaces become available later.
Applying early helps ensure you’re considered while seats are still open. Highly competitive programs include:
- Paramedic
- Personal Support Worker
- Practical Nursing
- Respiratory Therapy
- Welding and Fabrication Technician
