Explore post-secondary programs at Fleming College’s Fall Open House
Peterborough, ON (Oct. 27, 2016) – Fleming College is opening its doors to provide future students an opportunity to explore its more than 100 full-time programs.
Fleming’s Fall Open House will take place on Saturday, Nov. 5 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Sutherland Campus in Peterborough, Frost Campus in Lindsay, and at its Haliburton Campus.
Visitors can tour the campuses, residences, and athletic facilities, speak with faculty and current students, and learn more about college life and the services available to students. Fleming will also host information sessions for prospective students and parents on housing, financial assistance, and transitioning to college for students with an IEP.
As part of the event, various programs will host hands-on demonstrations. These include:
- Frost Campus – Blasting demonstrations; horizontal drilling simulation; tree climbing; heavy equipment demos; and hypothermic wrap demonstrations with the Outdoor Adventure Education program.
- Sutherland Campus – Baking in the culinary lab; fire truck and fire hose demonstrations; tours of the new Esthetician spa and Massage Therapy clinic; and tours of the new Graphic Design studio.
- Haliburton Campus – Guests can interact with students during live art demonstrations as they work in their studios.
Fleming’s Frost Campus is also hosting its annual Loggersports competition on Saturday, Nov. 5. Part of the Canadian Intercollegiate Lumberjacking Association, events take place all day at the campus. The Loggersports competition is free and all are welcome to attend.
