Published

Peterborough, ON – (May 5, 2026) – The Government of Ontario is expanding its Ontario Learn and Stay Grant (OLSG) to include Fleming College’s Practical Nursing program. The expansion of the Eastern OLSG region also includes Trent University. Together, the grant will support 1,500 more nursing students who want exceptional education and training in Peterborough and choose to stay in the region to build their careers and serve our community.

“Fleming College is proud to play a key role in supporting the health of our community and preparing the next generation of health-care talent,” says Interim President Dr. Theresa Knott. “The Learn and Stay Grant will make a meaningful difference in recruiting and retaining health-care workers in Peterborough and surrounding area and will enable us to do even more to support the local health-care workforce.”

The Ontario Learn and Stay Grant at Fleming covers tuition, books, and other direct educational costs for students in the Practical Nursing program, including the program’s HyFlex and accelerated delivery options.
