Join the new class of skilled professionals – Fleming College is introducing a new Pre-apprenticeship Carpenter program that is free for participants.

Pre-apprenticeship Carpenter is a full-time, 29-week program that starts on Feb. 18, 2014. It then progresses to carpenter training for 12 weeks, and finishes with a paid work placement of eight weeks in length.

There is no cost for participants: tuition, text books, tools, and safety equipment (hard hat, work boots, safety glasses) are all covered.

Upon completion of the Pre-apprenticeship Carpenter program, students will have Level 1 (Basic) Carpenter Apprentice, job experience, and the skills to search for and find employment or pursue a full apprenticeship. The program is open to high school graduates, early school leavers (participants require Grade 10 to be eligible), unemployed and underemployed youth and adults.
