New intake for Fleming’s free Altitude Aircraft Interior program
Peterborough ON – (May 19, 2021) – For those looking to take their career to new heights, Fleming College has just the program for you. There’s a new intake for the 12-week Altitude Aircraft Interior program that provides job-readiness skills, technical training in upholstery and interior tech, and a paid work placement. Best of all, it’s being offered at no cost to students through the SkillsAdvance Ontario partnership.
The Altitude Aircraft Interior program has been specially designed to meet the needs of the airline industry and there’s a demand for qualified candidates. All training is provided by qualified and experienced instructors with the latest technology at the Peterborough Airport. The program starts with in-class lessons and progresses to hands-on training. Following that is real-world learning as participants test and hone their skills at a two-week paid work placement.
Since the program is funded by SkillsAdvance Ontario (SAO) through the Ministry of Colleges and Universities, there is no cost to participants – all training and related costs for tools and equipment are covered. SAO supports workforce development in key growth sectors and funds partnerships that connect employers with the job and training services required to recruit and advance workers.
The program is open to high school graduates, early school leavers, and unemployed or underemployed youth and adults. Employment Insurance (EI) eligible and non-EI eligible, as well as women, Indigenous peoples and newcomers to Canada are encouraged to apply.
The due date for applications is May 21 and classes begin on May 31. For more details and to join an information session, please visit the website.
