International Kitchen celebrates Chinese New Year

Published

Peterborough ON – (February 13, 2015) – International and Canadian students at Fleming College will prepare, cook and eat a meal together in celebration of Chinese New Year.

Twenty-five students will take part in Fleming’s International Kitchen, an event that encourages social and cultural interaction between domestic and international students at the college. The International Kitchen will take place on Thursday, Feb. 19 from 5-7 p.m. in Fulford’s kitchen lab at the Sutherland Campus.

With assistance from Culinary Management students, four Chinese recipes have been pre-selected. At the event, the students will be divided into groups to each prepare one of the recipes. All of the students then eat the full meal together.

The International Kitchen is a collaboration between students in the Project Management program, International Student Services, and the Culinary Management program. International students participating in the event are from India, China and Brazil.

The next International Kitchen will take place on Thursday, March 19, 2015.
