Published

Haliburton, ON (March 4, 2025)—Discover new skills, pursue a new passion, or refine your artistic talents at the Haliburton School of Art + Design (HSAD) this year. HSAD’s 2025 course calendar is now available, offering a compelling range of hands-on learning opportunities for artists and makers of all skill levels.

Print copies are available at Fleming’s Sutherland, Frost, and Haliburton campuses and an online version is also available. Registration opens today, March 3.

This year’s calendar brings exciting updates to HSAD’s continuing education and summer programming. For those looking to create year-round, a selection of continuing education courses are already underway, with Wednesday evening classes spanning six weeks—ideal for those with daytime commitments. Additionally, Saturday workshops will focus on digital artwork.

Full summer programming begins in June and runs until August, offering an inspiring mix of traditional and contemporary courses across a variety of disciplines, including ceramics, painting, sculpture, textiles, jewelry, leatherwork, and more. This season’s lineup features courses like Arts Commerce: Small Business Planning, Painting with Oil: Do More with Less, and Weaving, alongside unique explorations in Musical Theatre, Screenwriting, and Folkloric Ceramics. Aspiring young creatives can also participate in programs like Kids’ Art Camp and Theatre & Improv.

Beyond HSAD’s course and program offerings, the summer months also feature Wednesday evening art talks and Thursday evening entertainment in the Great Hall, bringing together students, faculty, and the local arts community for inspiring conversations and performances.
