Free PD Webinar: Create & Ignite Your Personal Brand

Peterborough, ON (February 4, 2015): The Advancement and Alumni Relations Office at Fleming College has invited alumna Heather Watson to present ‘Create and Ignite YOUR Personal Brand’ live online on Thursday, February 26 from 2:30 PM – 3:30 PM (EST).  This complimentary professional development webinar is proudly sponsored by Fleming CREW Employment Services, an Employment Ontario program funded by the Government of Ontario.

Heather will talk about what a personal brand is, why it is important, and provide tips that include using social media to grow your network, attract opportunities, and establish credibility. This complimentary professional development webinar is recommended for individuals seeking to expand their career portfolio or professional networks, for entrepreneurs or small business employees, for students and recent graduates, and for adults who would like to re-invent themselves.  Career counsellors and coaches may also benefit by learning new ways to guide and open doors to career pathways for others.

Heather Watson operates her own communications consulting business with a focus on branding and online communications. Through her business Marketing Media Solutions, she creates marketing and branding strategies for individuals, small business and non-profits. Heather also facilitates training sessions and workshops on effective use of social media.

In addition, Heather works in the Mayor’s Office with the City of Peterborough and is an accomplished speaker with the International organization Toastmasters. A graduate from Fleming’s Business Administration – Marketing program (2000), Heather attributes her success to the fundamentals that she learned while attending Fleming College.

About the Canada-Ontario Job Grant:
– Will provide direct financial support to employers who wish to purchase training for their employees
– Is a partnership between the federal and provincial governments to fund employer-driven training initiatives
– The government covers 2/3 of the direct training costs up to $10,000 per trainee and employers are required to contribute 1/3 of the direct training costs
– Employers with less than 50 employees have the option to contribute up to 50% of their required contribution in wages paid to training participants
