Fleming Phoenix Loggersports Hosts 41st Annual Competition

Lindsay, ON (November 4, 2025) — Members of the community are invited to attend the 41st annual Fleming Phoenix loggersports competition on Saturday, November 29. The event will take place at Fleming’s Frost Campus in Lindsay (on the Loggersports Field).

Both the men’s and women’s loggersports A teams placed first overall at a recent competition at the University of New Brunswick, and the teams are eager to repeat their success in front of a hometown crowd.

Admission to the competition is free, and spectators are encouraged to join and cheer on athletes as they compete in a range of events, including log throwing, wood chopping, pole climbing, and axe throwing.

Opening ceremonies begin at 8 a.m., with the ceremonial “cookie cut” to mark the start of the event. The loggersports competition will officially commence at 8:30 a.m. and end at 4 p.m.

The competition falls under the Canadian Intercollegiate Lumberjacking Association (CILA).
