Fleming College Student Heading to National Culinary Competition
Peterborough, ON (April 28, 2023) – Fleming College Culinary student Mayank Mohandas is heading to the National Culinary Federation (CF) Competition in Niagara Falls after taking the top spot in the CF Central Region Chef’s Challenge Competition.
Mayank, in his fourth semester of Fleming College’s Culinary Management program, was joined at the March competition by fellow culinary student Josh Massie and Fleming College alumna Sophie Crowder.
Competitors were tasked with breaking down a chicken and then turning four portions of that chicken into an entrée.
Mayank will now move on to compete at the National Junior Chef Competition at the CF Conference in Niagara Falls from June 4 to June 8.
Sophie placed third in the Central Regional competition and is now a support team member on Senior Team Canada, which will be competing in Luxembourg later this year.
Fleming College congratulates Mayank on his win at the Central Region competition and wishes him all the best at the upcoming national competition.
