Peterborough ON – (June 22, 2018) – Fleming College has received a donation of the painting Rabaska Over Old Quebec City, by Quebec artist Ginet Leblond from the Kiani Foundation.

“The Kiani Foundation has been a long-time supporter of Fleming College and the donation of Rabaska Over Old Quebec City will make an excellent addition to Fleming College’s art collection and serve as an inspiration for our students,” said Fleming College President Dr. Tony Tilly. “We are honoured to call The Kiani Foundation a friend of Fleming College and thrilled to recognize this very generous donation by a renowned Canadian artist.”

Rabaska Over Old Quebec City was unveiled in the college’s main foyer at the Sutherland Campus where it will remain on exhibit in prominent view for the enjoyment of students, staff and visitors.

The painting is from Galerie Q, owned by Mr. Farsad Kiani. Galerie Q is a contemporary art gallery located in Cavan, Ontario. Galerie Q exhibits work primarily done by Quebec based artists and masters. The gallery provides the opportunity for artists to experience responses to their work, and for the public to increase its aesthetic awareness in the deciphering of the artist’s intent through contemplation and dialogue.

The Kiani Foundation is a registered not for profit charitable organization that believes education is the key to preventing many of today’s challenges such as hunger, environmental concerns, conflicts, the spread of disease and poverty.
