Massage Therapy, 2004

I decided to take the Massage Therapy program because I was heavily interested in health care-- specifically sports injury rehab. As an athlete growing up, I suffered several injuries, and was quite familiar with the inside of physiotherapy and massage therapy offices! I also had a girlfriend, so I decided to stay in my hometown for school, which was a smart choice as she is now my wife and the mother of my four beautiful kids!

Today, I am the owner of Return to Function, an integrated performance and rehabilitation clinic in Peterborough. At the clinic, I provide massage therapy, medical acupuncture, dynamic and kinesio taping, therapeutic ultrasound, and soft tissue release therapy.

Since becoming a member of the Canadian Sport Massage Therapist Association, I have worked with the National Beach Volleyball Championships, the International Taekwondo Championships, and the National Track and Field Championships. In 2010, I was able to tour BC, New York and Europe (Georgia and Portugal) with Rugby Canada and the National Senior Men's 15 team, which was a dream come true, as I may not have been able to visit those places on my own. I'll never forget the history, culture and beauty of Georgia.

I may be biased, because I have taught in the program, but I believe Fleming College has the best Massage Therapy program in the province. I would definitely recommend this program to anyone interested in a rewarding health care career. I wouldn't be where I am today if it wasn't for my diploma!
