Provincial Attestation Letter:

What is a Provincial Attestation Letter (PAL) and will I need it as part of my Canadian study permit application?
As per the IRCC's website , you need a Provincial Attestation Letter to apply for a study permit. As of January 22, 2024, most students must include a provincial attestation letter (PAL) from the province or territory where they plan to study with their study permit application.
How do I know if I need a Provincial Attestation Letter (PAL)?
If your study permit application has already been approved by IRCC; OR if you have applied for your new study permit application before January 22, 2024; OR if you are applying for a study permit extension from within Canada, you do not need a PAL. If you fall under any of the above categories, you must immediately notify the college at international@flemingcollege.ca.
Does Provincial Attestation Letter guarantee my study visa approval?
No. The provincial attestation letter (PAL) does not guarantee that your study permit application will be approved. However, if you do not include your PAL, your study permit application will not be accepted for processing. A complete list of students who do not need a PAL can be found on the IRCC's website.
How to get a Provincial Attestation Letter (PAL)?

It is important to clarify, if you applied to your study permit before January 22, 2024, you do not need a PAL.

If you have received an offer of admission and are applying for a study visa after January 22, 2024, follow this check list:

  1. Accept your offer of admission.
