Scholarships and Bursaries
Fisher Gauge was started as a small, one-man workshop in the basement of the family home in East City, Peterborough in 1942 by William Fisher. With the help of other family members, including brother Chester, sons Paul and Doug, and nephew Jim, Fisher Gauge has grown into an internationally recognized company selling zinc alloy die-cast components.
William (Bill), was a tool and die maker and designer, and he specialized in machine design, particularly precision die casting and small components.
Fisher Gauge has had a long-standing relationship with the College. Fisher Gauge has been an employer of Fleming graduates for many years and has been an employer of Fleming graduates for many years and has used the College's training services to upgrade the skills of their workers.
The William Fisher Memorial Student Bursary has been created to honour William Fisher and Fisher Gauge's commitment to the future of the Peterborough Community.
Awarded to a domestic full-time student in any of the following programs: Electrical Engineering Technician, Instrumentation and Control Engineering Technician, or the Computer Engineering Technician/Technology, who demonstrates financial need.
