The most significant project, initiated in 2001 by the PHS and Master Gardeners, has been the Peterborough Garden Show, held annually over a 3-day period, drawing 8000 visitors, and 150 vendors.

In 2001, the scholarship program was established. In addition to annually providing six awards of $1000 each to local students studying horticulture or related programs.
