Scholarships and Bursaries
This fund was established in honour of Beverly A. Newman in 2005 to assist Fleming College students with financial assistance.
In 1991 Beverly retired from the position of Corporate Secretary for a large Toronto developer. Wife, mother, grandmother, thespian, and sometimes poet, Beverly has since volunteered with the Bobcaygeon Public School in the kindergarten classrooms and library; the Bobcaygeon Festival of Trees; the Bobcaygeon Fair Board; the Community Policing Committee and has completed the Police and Community Together Program (PACT). Since moving to Lindsay in 2006 Beverly volunteers many hours at Ross Memorial Hospital. Through the years Beverly has, in countless ways, supported her husband Peter in his activities with the Fleming College Foundation. This bursary has been Beverly's dream and is given to help a single mother achieve theirs.
Awarded to a domestic full-time student who is a single mother, in any year of the Police Foundations Program, who demonstrates financial need.
* Student must have resided in Ontario for twelve months prior to beginning their post-secondary studies.
