Kate Lines

Kate Lines is a former Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Chief Superintendent. During her 33 year career with the OPP Kate worked as a police officer on uniform patrol, undercover drug investigations, fraud investigations, intelligence and major crimes such as homicide and sexual assault. In 1990-1991, she was trained by the FBI's Behavioral Science Unit to become Canada's first female criminal investigative analyst. She worked on analyzing cases across Canada, US, UK and Australia. She is a past president of the International Criminal Investigative Analysis Fellowship. Kate is also well respected for establishing and managing the first Behavioural Sciences Section in Canada, which now includes the Violent Crime Linkage Analysis, Criminal Profiling, Threat Assessment, Ontario Sex Offender Registry, and Polygraph Units. She holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree majoring in Sociology in conjunction with the Crime and Deviance Specialist Program from the University of Toronto. She has also received General and Advanced Certificates in Police Studies and a Diploma in Police Management Studies from the University of Western Ontario. Kate was voted Canadian Police Leader of the Year in 2004. Among her many honours received are the Canadian Officer Order of Merit Medal, Queen's Golden Jubilee Medal and the Ontario Provincial Police Exemplary Service Medal.
