Joni NehRita

Joni NehRita is a multi-instrumentalist, composer, choir director, educator and facilitator who studied jazz vocals and arranging at Humber College and Shelley Berger School of Music. As a singer and songwriter, she has a knack for sun-drenched melodies and infectious grooves that help inspire us to be the change. Career highlights include performing in the UK, Europe, Australia, Oman, Australia and Brazil, as well as professional musical theatre roles and being a guest vocalist with KW Symphony and Hamilton Philharmonic. As an educator and facilitator, she has been ensemble director at Wilfrid Laurier University and has guest lectured at York and the University of Guelph on topics including songwriting, vocal improv, jazz and Brazilian methodology, Musica do Circulo. Three-time recipient of the album recording grant from Ontario Arts Council, she's also been artistically supported by Canada Council for the Arts and Waterloo Region's Arts Fund.
