Welcome to Fleming Child and Youth Care Program!

I have been involved in practice and teaching in Child and Youth Care (CYC) for many years. What I love most about CYC practice is that it embraces the uniqueness and strengths of young people and families; it values the everyday moments; and recognizes that development and healing across the lifespan happens in the context of relationships, requiring genuine care, engagement and respect.

I completed my undergrad in Child and Youth Care at the University of Victoria and my MSc in Child and Youth Care Studies (CYCS) from the University of Strathclyde. I currently teach full time at Fleming College as well as part time with the University of Strathclyde in the MSc in CYCS program.

I sit as a Board of Directors on the Ontario Association of Child and Youth Care (OACYC), am an editor of the Relational Child and Youth Care (RCYC) Journal and continue to work alongside young people and families in a variety of capacities in my community. Outside of CYC practice I enjoy gardening, reading and being outdoors.
