Painting - From Realism to Abstraction

Course Code: ARTS2794

This course has been designated as an intermediate/advanced level. Beginner and/or intermediate skills and knowledge in the described subject matter are required to take this course.
Learn the philosophy, psychology and process of abstraction. Master new skills through step-by-step instruction as you develop an appreciation of this art form. Using personal photographs taken from nature, historic architecture or fabric or wallpaper designs, you will frame a selected image and enlarge them as a basis for a large-scale oil or acrylic painting. Prepare to repair and fuse a broken object, transforming it into an artistic expression of rebirth. Participants will be expected to have a portfolio of images ready for class.
