Introduction to Geographic Information Systems
Course Code: GEOM061
Acquire an overview of the fundamental concepts, terminology, and the role of GIS, in business, government, surveying, and natural resources. We will examine the collection, management, analysis and presentation of spatial data, concepts of database systems, data modeling, and digital mapping. Software requirements: Open Source Software (Quantum GIS).
