Glassblowing - ABCs to Glass Hot Sculpting

This five-day course introduces the fundamentals of sculpting in the hot shop, focusing on essential techniques for creating figurative glass work. Explore design considerations, hot pick-up for simple components, surface texture development, and collaborative bit work. Instruction will also cover colour application methods for adding detail and visual depth to your sculptures. Through hands-on practice and guided demonstrations, build a strong technical foundation while developing confidence working with hot glass. You are encouraged to bring a sketchbook for planning, inspiration, and note-taking. Glass colour will be available for purchase at the campus store. This immersive course is ideal for artists looking to expand their skills in hot glass sculpting.
