Course Description: In this fun and supportive workshop you will learn the skills required to create realistic and pleasing drawings. You will become familiar with the properties and uses of a range of drawing media, tools and papers typically used in this discipline. You will learn strategies to increase your observation skills and methods for achieving accurate proportions. Line and shading techniques will be demonstrated and contrast of value explored with the intent of creating the illusion of form and distance in your work. Subject matter will include natural and inorganic structures. The objective is to build strong, foundational skills and instill confidence.

Course Description: Suitable whether you are an absolute beginner or would like a refresher, instruction will provide the visual tools needed to get started on the road to good drawing practices. Through tried-and-true exercises for drawing proficiency, learn to master drawing techniques, explore a variety of media, and find new ways of seeing and thinking about drawing in an inclusive and intensive environment. Work with expressive line, blind drawing, tonal values and learn to use visual tools such as sighting for proportion and angle. Instruction will include demonstrations and examples of all techniques and exercises, as well as positive feedback in a supportive environment. A $10 material fee payable to the instructor will be needed on your first day of class
