Raising awareness for mental health at Fleming College
Fleming College’s Sutherland Campus will host a special event for mental health awareness on Wednesday, Jan. 27.
Hosted by Fleming’s Mental Health Strategy Team, the event is being held in conjunction with Bell’s Let’s Talk day. It will start at 10 a.m. in the main foyer with a number of Fleming employees and students riding stationary bikes.
The total number of kilometres will be tracked on the bikes throughout the day with a goal of logging the equivalent distance of Clara Hughes’ 2014 ride across Canada for mental health.
President Tony Tilly, Vice President Academic Laurel Schollen, Vice President of Human Resources and Student Services Sonia Crook, and Student Administrative Council President Rob Williams will all be on the bikes as part of the kick off at 10 a.m. The event will also include henna tattoos and a dance flash mob at noon.
